Recognized as a premier mental health treatment center, Provo Canyon School offers comprehensive treatment and educational programs to elementary, middle school, and high school students. Licensed by the Department of Health and Human Services in Utah, Provo Canyon School has a compassionate team dedicated to fostering hope and growth in students. To share hope with others, the school community sent messages to the city of Boston to support healing related to the Boston Marathon bombing as part of the America 4 Boston prayer canvas project.
Over the course of nearly a year, individuals and groups from around the United States contributed messages to a special prayer canvas for the victims of the Boston Marathon attacks. Throughout its cross-country travels, the canvas collected messages from All-Star baseball players, members of Congress, and supportive citizens. The project got its start in Florida, when seven mothers pledged to do something for Boston. After the initial canvas generated interest in the local community, organizers began sharing canvases with other interested parties around the country.
A year after the attacks, the canvases went on display on the Boston Marathon finish line. On the day before the 2014 Boston Marathon, the city’s iconic Fenway Park proudly displayed the canvases, which grew to 19,000 feet with messages from all 50 states and 30 countries.
